green…the color of rebirth the color of the earth green is peace and quiet green is the shapes of leaves, pointy and round, sawtooth and smooth tinier than my pinkie nail and large enough to wear as a hat… green is rain life giving quenching rain that makes greeness even greener when it shines with that fresh washed glow… so many shades and hues not enough words to describe them all… a baseball field a leprechaun’s hat a forest faerie’s eyes new shoots on the tips of redwood branches deep dark green leaves on citrus trees the mysterious angry color of the sea in a storm… seedlings that turn into tomato plants adorned with succulent red-orange-yellow fruit like Christmas ornaments… in the forest a canopy of green is comforting and safe like a womb, silence and safety green soothes my eyes and eases my mind… a hiding place for birds their secret nests and mysterious ways bird melodies fill green spaces, trees and bushes come alive in song as many different songs as there are shades of green… animated by the wind the green dance is a hula or a shimmy or a wild helter skelter swirl, a green blur of motion and sound greensong is a rustle-swoosh a hush and a hiss and sometimes just a whisper listen and just maybe you’ll hear the green earth speak to you through the trees a language that requires deep and thoughtful meditation to understand…even in stillness greenspeak can be heard through the dappled light, sparkling emeralds on the forest floor… a green bath is cleansing and renewing a full body immersion into the essence of life the pulse of the world, life giving and eternal…green
